Jeleń [ˈjɛlɛɲ] (German: Gellen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Borne Sulinowo, within Szczecinek County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Borne Sulinowo, 13 km (8 mi) south-west of Szczecinek, and 136 km (85 mi) east of the regional capital Szczecin.

The region joined the Holy Roman Empire in 1180. In 1648 the Duchy of Pomerania became part of Prussia and later Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
