Government Degree College Shopian (Urdu;گورنمنٹ ڈگری کالج شوپیان) also known as GDC Shopian, is an autonomous degree college affiliated with University of Kashmir, located on a 67 kanal (8.375 acre) campus in Shopian in the Indian administrative state of Jammu and Kashmir. The college provides admission in more than 146 combinations involving eighteen subjects. In addition, the college facilitates off-campus education in collaboration with IGNOU, MANUU and the Department of Distance Education of University of Kashmir. The college is recognized by the UGC, under sections 2(f) and 12(b).[1]

Location

Degree College Shopian is located in Gagren 1km from main town Shopian, about 42km south of the state summer capital Srinagar.[2]

Establishment

Govt.of J&K established the college under the Chief-Ministership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah in the year 1988.

The college offers three year bachelor courses in Arts, Science and Social Science.
