Ziki Shaked

Ziki Shaked, the first captain in the history of Israel, who went around the world under the Israeli flag.

Ziki Shaked (born 1955), the Israeli captain, sailing instructor, founder of the school of sailing in Eilat.[1][2]

In 2010-2012 he traveled around the world on his yacht "Lorraine-D", and became the first captain in the history of Israel, who went around the world under the Israeli flag.[3][4] The yacht "Lorraine-D" started from Eilat and two years later came back to Eilat. The route passed through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean and then through Panama Canal to Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden, Red Sea.

The boat was traveling in unique places like Galapagos Islands, Easter Island, Pitcairn Island, Vanuatu etc. At various times people from different countries of the world - Israel, Russia, Finland, France, etc. joined this journey.[5]
