Timespirits was an eight-issue comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics as part of its Epic Comics imprint in 1984. It was created by writer Stephen Perry and Tom Yeates. In a report published by Folha de S.Paulo, many have pointed to plagiarism of the comic committed by Avatar, the James Cameron movie.[1][2]

- ↑ The plagiarism claims are solely based on Internet posts showing images from the comic of a blue skinned woman in a jungle. The storylines and the fictional characters of the comic and film are entirely dissimilar. The woman, called Thornypaws, is a minor character, an alien pop singer who is being taken on a journey through time and space for just two issues. She is in the company of several other people, one of whom is a resurrected Jimi Hendrix who prevents a dystopian future by rocking out a secret Illuminati-like cabal of world leaders in 1986 in issue 6.
