Timeline of 13th-century conversion of Hindu clans to Islam

Kaimkhani- or Qaimkhani is a community of Muslims living in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. They had converted to Islam a few hundred years ago, and are still considered close to Rajputs. They are the descendants of Khan-e Jehan Nawab Kaim Khan Shaheed who was the son of Raja Motay Rao Chauhan, the ruler of Dorayra or Dadrewa (presently situated in the Churu district of Rajasthan). Later in the mid 20th century the Late Nawab Prince Mohammed Bakhtawar Khan became a very significant figure in India and one of the most important Kaim Khanis is history, and in his legacy apart from being a major Prominent Business, Landlord Hyderabad (India) & philanthropist, whose son Prince Mumtaz Ali Khan became First Muslim Kaimkhani MNA Hyderabad, Deccan, India, along with son HH Prince Mohammed Ishaq Ali Khan being the First Kaim Khani to settle in the UK, with his first son being HH Prince Rashid Khan, whose mother was from the Danish Steel European Banking Kramer family. The first progenitor of Kaimkhanis was Karamchand born in the family of Moterao of Chauhan clan, the ruler of Dadrewa.[1] Firuz Shah Tughluq converted him to Islam and named him Kaimkhan.[2] Thus his descendants were called Kaimkhani.[3] He embraced Islam along with his brothers, Zainuddin and Jabaruddin, in the times of Sultan Feroz Shah (born in 1310 and crowned in 1351). Descendents of Zainuddin and Jabaruddin are also called 'Kaimkhanis'.

Kayamkhanis also have sub-casts or khanies like Bohans/Bhuwaans, Chauhan, Ailmaan,Goriyan, Malkan, Paharyan, Tugnan, Tajnaan, Tagala, Tanwar, Malwaan, Ahamdaan, Kachhawa, Gahlot, Jaatu, Khokhar, Chayal, Moyal, Dilawar Khani, Joiya, Bahleem, Kudnaan, Mohnaan, Sihag, Gauri, Khilji, Bhati, Rathore, Majhwaan, Aakhan(Akhwan), Sarkhel, Sarwa, Jabwaan, Zaindanaan and so many other Khanies, these khanies are extracted from the name of any famous elder of the family, who is ahead of a large family and are for identification only, otherwise all Qaiem Khanies/Kaim Khanies are equal in level and status. The Khanzadas are the peoples of a Rajput clan belonges to Mewaat area. The peoples whom called themselves Khanzada in Qaiem Khani community are following a baseless self claimed identity. In Qaiem Khanies no one have claimed himself "Khanzada till 1920 AD.

Meo - Like most Indian Muslims, the Meos were originally Hindu; when and how their conversion to Islam came about is unclear. It seems probable they were converted in stages: first by Salar Masud in the 11th century but the majority were converted under the influence of Sufi's in the 13th century. Raja Nahar was the first Meo chieftain to convert to Islam in the 14th century. Although Meos converted to Islam, because of their rebellious nature Delhi rulers were always after them. Hasan Khan Mewati organised Rajputs under Rana Sanga against Babur. He died fighting Mughals.

Wattu - Some Wattus were converted to Islam . Their conversion to Islam was effected in the reign of Firuz Shah Tughluq [4]
