Rukumkot (Nepali: रुकुमकोट) is a town located in a valley of the Rukum district in Nepal. Nearby is a pond called Rukmini Tal (local name: Kamal Dhaha (Nepali: कमलदह). Not far from it, there is an historic Shibalaya temple. Other temples include the Barah, Baraji, and Bhagwati temples.

Rukmini Taal (Pond) Rukumkot

The mickname of Rukum, "Baunna Pokhari Tripanna Takuri" (Place of 52 Lakes & 53 Hills), is derived from the name Rukumkot. It is believed that there are 52 ponds/lakes and 53 hills in Rukumkot. Rukumkot is very beautiful place and it is a traditional places for other upper part of rukum like kakri,and other. In rukumkot Road way is available. Road way was opened from the 2065 B.S. Road way was opened with the help of India. And other Road way is now developing in the middle part of rukumkot known as mid hill road way it will be helpful for the people of rukumkot vdc Shibalaya, a temple to Shiva on the northern shore of Rukmini Taal, was built by Purna Kumari, the wife of a Prime Minister of the Rana Dynasty. It is said that this temple is the only monument made during the Rana reign in the mid-western part of Nepal.

There is a mysterious cave in the eastern part of Rukumkot, on the bank of the Rumgad (River), called Deurali Gufa (Cave). It can be visited only by walking for one hour from Rukumkot.
