Pinar Atalay (born 27 April 1978, Lemgo, Germany) is a German radio and television presenter.

Life

Atalay was born the daughter of Turkish immigrants in Lemgo. After high school she led, for one year, a boutique in Lemgo.[1] Subsequently, she applied as an intern at the Radio NRW station Radio Lippe. She later worked as a freelancer and trainee, and was, for a time, an early presenter at the local radio station Antenne Münster.[1]

On the WDR Fernsehen, Atalay regularly hosted Cosmo TV. For ARD-aktuell, she hosted regular news and special programs, including for Das Erste. She is also a reporter and presenter on NDR Fernsehen, the radio of the NDR, as well as being active on Radio Bremen. From 2010 onwards, she hosted the Phoenix. In March 2014, Atalay took over the moderating of the evening news in succession of Ingo Zamperoni.[2] In addition, since the beginning of 2014, she has written articles for the German business magazine Plusminus.[3]
