McHale College

McHale College was a VEC Secondary School located on the Currane Peninsula in the village of Pollranny near Achill Island in the West of County Mayo, Ireland. It was originally located in the village of An Caiseal on Achill Island. The last Principal was Barry Kilgannon also, previous manager of Westport United and player at Limerick F.C.. The School provides a comprehensive range of subjects to the students of the locality including computer studies, Link modules, Enterprise Education Technology and Metalwork. The school is located beside Scoil Damhnait.The School closed in 2011, amalgamating with Scoil Damhnait, and has reopened under the new name Coláiste Pobail Acla the school is located at the site of the former McHale College and has additional classrooms with it.
