Marc Worth (born c. 1961) is a British businessman. He is the co-founder of World Global Style Network, a fashion trend-forecaster, and Stylus.
Early life
Marc Worth was born circa 1961 in Nottingham, England.[1][2] He has an elder brother, Julian Worth.[1] He received three O Levels and quit school at the age of sixteen.[2]
Career
Worth started his career by working for the family business, Heat-Seal Textiles, with his brother Julian at the age of business.[2]
With his brother Julian, Worth was the co-founder of World Global Style Network, a fashion trend-forecaster, in 1997.[3][4][5] They sold it to Emap for GBP£140 million in 2005.[4][5]
Worth acquired the fashion label Ossie Clark in 2007.[5] He launched a new collection at the 2008 London Fashion Week, but sold it eighteen months later, after losing GBP£4 million.[5]
Worth has written articles for Forbes.[6]
Worth quickly saw the opportunity in a cross-industry approach to trend forecasting and launched Stylus in 2009.[7] Stylus is an innovation research and advisory firm helping businesses process global consumer lifestyle, product and engagement insights, stimulating innovation and growth.[7]
Philanthropy
Worth served as the Chairman of the British-Israel Chamber of Commerce.[2] He serves on the Board of UK Israel Business.[8] He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Ramat Gan, Israel.[2][9]
With his wife, Worth has made charitable contributions to the Hampstead Theatre.[10]
Personal life
Marc met his wife Hilda when she was only nineteen years old.[11] She serves as co-Chair of the Jewish Women's Aid, a Jewish non-profit organisation which tackles domestic violence, and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Friends of Israel.[12][13] They have four children, Patti, Max, Henry and Louis.[2] They attend the Hampstead Synagogue.[2] They reside in Hampstead Garden Suburb, north London.[2] They have a home in Herzliya, Israel.[2]
