Kalraj Mishra is the Indian Union Cabinet Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the BJP-led NDA government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Being affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he is currently a member of parliament of the same from Deoria constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Mishra is a Brahmin leader from Uttar Pradesh.

He was a member of Rajya Sabha and a MLA from Lucknow East assembly constituency. He was also President of Uttar Pradesh state unit of the BJP.

He was appointed as the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). He is considered as one of the most loyal partyworker of Bharatiya Janata Party who is responsible for the rise of BJP in Uttar Pradesh. He believes in work for the welfare of the society & has never given importance to the position. Wonderful orator and a thinktank of BJP.

Family and Personal

Mishra was born in a middle class Brahmin family in Malikpur Deoria District (eastern UP) as a fourth son of a family, his father was a teacher Shri Ramagya Mishra.[1] Born in 1941 in Deoria District of Uttar Pradesh, he obtained his M.A. degree from Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi.

Political career

In 1963, Mishra became RSS pracharak. Mishr, is renowned Sangh pracharak He was the first elected member of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha.

He was three term member of Rajya Sabha 1978, 2001 and 2006. He joined politics and held many party positions at state and national level. He was a Cabinet Minister in Government of Uttar Pradesh holding the portfolios of Public Works, Medical Education and Tourism during March 1997 – August 2000 period.

Mishra started a campaign wherein all state highways would be made crater free. He played an important role in the formation of Uttarakhand. By his efforts and organisational capability he was able to make a good and competent organisation.

First time ever Mishra contested Vidhan Sabha election in 2012 as a BJP candidate from Lucknow East assembly constituency and won the seat for BJP. He initiated many developmental projects. In 2014 Mishra became MP from Deoria (Lok Sabha constituency)|Deoria constituency]] & later appointed as Cabinet Minister in the Modi government. He is the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises since 26 May 2014. He says his ministry works for youth as:

"Berozgar se Swarozgar tak ki yatra".

He urged to youth in his speech by saying, "It is important to develop Entrprenuership Mentality, we are looking forward to develop Job Provider not Job Seeker"
