Joseph Byron Stannard was the seventh head football coach for the Colgate University Raiders located in the Village of Hamilton in Madison County, New York and he held that position for the 1899 season. His overall coaching record at Colgate was 4 wins, 5 losses, and 0 ties.
Before coaching, Stannard played football first at Colgate under Spencer Ford[2] and then at Pennsylvania under George Washington Woodruff.[3]
