IDEA is a retail chain in Serbia, with a constant market share growth since 2005, when the first store was opened in Belgrade. IDEA is part of the Agrokor Group, one of the largest companies in Southeast Europe, focused on food and beverages production and distribution. After the merger of Mercator-S and IDEA in 2014, IDEA became the largest retail chain in Serbia, with over 300 shops in almost 100 cities.[1]

IDEA is one of the founders and largest partners in the customer loyalty program SuperKartica, established in 2013.

Awards

IDEA received the Superbrands award for 2012/2013, for the "power and the quality of its brand, as well as recognition and emotional connection with its customers".[2]

Best Buy Award is awarded based on a research done in 2013, in which the citizens of Serbia based on their experiences listed IDEA as the No1 international retail chain offering the best value for their money in Serbia.[3]

Quality standards

A HACCP system for increased food safety is implemented in all IDEA stores and VELPRO wholesale centers. This implementation lasted for more than six months, and was preceded by an intensive preparation process with significant investments in employee trainings and equipment.[4]

In 2013 IDEA successfully fulfilled all the requirements for the ISO 14001:2004 international certificate on environmental protection management.[5]
