Hume Bank formerly Hume Building Society operates primarily in retail banking and as part of Hume Bank's vision it aims to be the financial institution of choice to the people in, or aligned to, North Eastern Victoria and Southern New South Wales while providing national convenience. As of 2015 Hume Bank has 19 branches, 47 ATMs, employs over 150 staff and have over 58,000 customers.^[1]

History and Development

Originally Started as the Hume Co-operative Building & Investment Society Ltd. in 1955, Hume employed 3 staff and had 50 customers. In 1968 Hume’s name was shortened to Hume Permanent Building Society in 1969 and in 1988 became Hume Building Society. Hume officially changed its name to Hume Bank on 1 July 2014 after seeking approval from its customers and the governing body APRA in 2013.^[1]
