Huang Jingyu (born 30 November 1992) is a Chinese actor and model. Starting in 2013, he appeared several times as a model in the Hunan Satellite TV variety show, "I'm a great beauty". In early 2016, he became widely known after starring as Gu Hai in Addicted, a popular web series that was banned by SAPPRFT. He became one of the top trending celebrity on Sina Weibo by the time that Stephen Hawking joined the popular Chinese microblogging website in April 2016.[1]
Personal life
Huang Jingyu started his career as a model after being recommended by a friend. He currently holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and has participated in many open tournaments from the BJJ Shanghai Institute.[2]
Fashion
In June 2016, he was invited to the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2017 fashion show during Milan Fashion Week as one of the millennials VIP guest.[3]

Controversies
On April 2, 2016, the Chinese media leaked the SAPPRFT directives on sensitive content that includes the following: "The web drama Addicted, dealing with homosexual subject matter, has been forbidden from broadcast. All channels are to cease inviting lead actors onto their shows or to hype them, such as Huang Jingyu, Xu Weizhou, Lin Fengsong, and Chen Wen.".[13] By the time this document was leaked, Huang Jingyu and his co-star Xu Weizhou had already filmed episodes for two popular variety shows, Happy Camp and Run for Time. The Happy Camp episode, which was scheduled to broadcast on April 16, was unable to broadcast and both actors were severely cut out from the episode of Run for Time. Huang Jingyu, who was scheduled to film for the Chinese version of the Amazing Race was also replaced.[14]
