Hetmanate
The Hetmanate (Ukrainian: Гетьманат or Гетьманщина), a political entity ruled by a hetman, may refer to:
- Cossack Hetmanate, a Cossack state in the central and north-eastern regions of Ukraine during 1649-1775.
- Cossack regiments: The name Hetmanate, especially in Russian sources, referred to Cossack regiments in Left-bank Ukraine that were under of the authority of Moscow's hetman, from 1667 onward. This excludes both Zaporizha and Sloboda Ukraine.[1]
- Left-bank Ukraine, referred to as "Little Russia" and "Hetmanate" in Russian sources.[2]
- Ukrainian State, a short-lived polity in Ukraine during 1918.
