The Bezirk Hermagor (Slovene: Okraj Šmohor) is an administrative district (Bezirk) in Carinthia, Austria.

The district has an area of 808.02 km² and a population of 18,435 (2016-01-01). Hermagor's population density is nearly 24 people per km². The administrative center of the district is Hermagor-Pressegger See.

History

Its name refers to Saint Hermagoras, whose cult was centered at Aquileia.[2]
