Gino Antonio

Gino Antonio (Jack Badon in real life) was a former Filipino actor.

Life and career

He came from a family of farmers. He started as a lifeguard before becoming a model and actor. He was identified with bold movies together with Vida Verde, Joy Sumilang, Cristina Crisol, Mark Joseph, Greggy Liwag, Tony Martínez and the late George Estregan.

In 1984, Antonio did his first movie Private Show, which was about the lives of 'toro'/'torera' or live sex performers with Jacklyn Jose and Leopoldo Salcedo, directed by Chito Roño, released in 1985. He was nominated as Gawad Urian Best Actor 1987 in the movie Takaw Tukso, one of the best Filipino films of 1986, starring Anna Marie Gutierrez, Julio Diaz, Daniel Fernando and Jacklyn Jose, written by Armando Lao and directed by William Pascual. His other notable films includes' Sabik... Kasalanan Ba? (1986), Ginto Sa Putikan (1987), and Virginia P. (1989) starring Alma Moreno, Joey Marquez, Richard Gomez and Alice Dixson, directed by Joey Gosiengfiao.

He was included in the star-studded casts movie Ang Babaeng Nawawala Sa Sarili (1989), starring Dina Bonnevie, Tonton Gutierrez, Cherie Gil, Eddie Gutierrez, Barbara Perez, Dante Rivero, Julio Diaz, Juan Rodrigo, Rey 'PJ' Abellana, Raoul Aragon and Sunshine Dizon, directed by Eddie Rodriguez. In 1990, he did Chito Rono's film' Kasalanan Bang Sambahin Ka? with Vivian Velez, Dawn Zulueta and Julio Diaz.

After his showbiz stint, he went to Dumaguete for his farm planting rice, vegetables, trees, then, he concentrated into cultivation of tilapia. He is now President of the Tilapia Association in Dumaguete. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
