Carlos Filipe Fonseca Chaby (born 22 January 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for S.C. Covilhã on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal as an attacking midfielder.

Club career

Born in Setúbal, Chaby joined Sporting Clube de Portugal's youth system at the age of 12, from local Vitória FC. On 1 December 2011, whilst still a junior, he remained an unused substitute in the 2–0 home win against FC Zürich for the group stages of the UEFA Europa League, alongside fellow youth graduate João Carlos;[1] three months earlier he had first appeared in the Segunda Liga with the B-team, starting and playing 61 minutes in a 0–1 loss at U.D. Oliveirense.[2]

On 20 January 2015, Chaby was loaned to C.F. União of the second tier until the end of the season,[3] and he started in 14 of his appearances for the club as it achieved promotion to the Primeira Liga after more than two decades, scoring in a 3–1 away win over S.L. Benfica B on 1 March.[4] On 30 August, he returned to Madeira until the end of the campaign, also on loan.[5]
