He is MLA of Bhokar Constituency in period of 1991-1999 for 2 Successive time. [1] He served as Minister of state for Home Affairs,Revenue & Co-Operation in Maharashtra Government headed by Sharad Pawar in period of 1991-1995. He is NCP leader, But in 2014 he joined BJP at Mumbai in presence of Amit Shah along with Suryakanta Patil & Bhaskarrao Khatgaonkar .

He is main litigent in Ashok Chavan Paid news case as he contested against him in 2009 assembly poll from Bhokar Assembly Constituency.
