Diljit Singh Virk

Brigadier Diljit Singh Virk (23 May 1914 – 21 July 1997) was an Indian philatelist who was added to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1993.[1]

Virk was an officer with the Indian Army Post Office from 1939. He built reference collections for the Indian Army Postal Service and wrote on the Indian Army Post Offices 1939–1947, Postal Censorship in India 1939–1945, the Military Campaigns Sikkim-Tibet 1903–1908, and on the Chinese Expeditionary Force 1903–1923. His Indian Postal History 1873–1923, won the Martin Memorial Trophy of the India Study Circle in 1991.
