The College developed some of the first courses for Special Needs Assistants in the 1990s.

Since 2003 the college has been a recognised provider of Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) qualifications with its programmes aligned to the Irish Governments National Framework of Qualifications.

The Colleges courses are delivered in centres throughout Ireland, Blackrock, Dublin City, Templeogue, Tallaght, Swords, Killarney, Galway, Tralee, and Cork City. The College provides Full and Part Time courses and a number of its programmes are available via Distance Learning. Moodle is used by the college. The Blended Learning programmes are a combination of Distance Learning and weekend seminars.[3]

The Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) programmes qualify for the Pobal Learners Fund.[4] Students who complete the QQI Level 6 Childcare and Montessori programme can progress to degree level at St. Nicholas Montessori College, Dun-Laoghaire.

Healthcare training programmes include QQI Level 5 courses in Elderly care, Healthcare support and Nursing Studies.
