Broadway railway station is a former Great Western Railway station that served the town of Broadway in Worcestershire, England. It opened in 1904, and closed to passengers in 1960; the original station buildings were demolished in the 1960s,[2] although the line through the site remained open for passenger trains until 1968.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway started work for the reconstruction of the station in 2009, along with the track south to Laverton and its existing line to Cheltenham.

Preservation

In 2015, the four mile section of track from the current terminus at Toddington toward Broadway station was being relaid,[3] and in 2016 the company launched its current share offer, "Broadway: the last mile", to complete the last mile of track.[4] Trains currently run as far as Laverton Halt.[5] The rebuilding of Broadway station is due to be completed in 2017,[6] and services are expected in 2018.[7]

The GWR Broadway Area Group of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Trust started work clearing the derelict site in 2009. As of October 2016, both platforms have been reconstructed, a signal box on platform 2 has been rebuilt and is in the process of being fitted out with necessary signalling equipment, the footbridge span has been erected and bricklaying on the main station building has begun.[8][9]
