"Alabama Woman Blues" is a Blues standard written and recorded by the American Blues musician Leroy Carr.[1]
Overview
Carr recorded the song on September 9, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois with Scrapper Blackwell. His companion played the acoustic guitar on the recording, while Carr sang and played the piano for the release.[2] While Carr played the song regularly in A-flat major on the piano, Blackwell tunes his guitar to A-flat and played it in the D-position.[3] The original take was released in 1930 as the B-side (C-6091-B) to the single "Four Day Rider" (C-6090-A).[4] Since then, it has become part of various compilations.[5]
